GraceKennedy Mourns the Passing of Mable Tenn, Trailblazing Business Leader and Former Director

GraceKennedy is deeply saddened by the passing of Mable Tenn, a pioneering Jamaican businesswoman and trailblazer.

Ms Tenn’s association with GraceKennedy spanned decades and reflected a remarkable journey defined by resilience, entrepreneurial vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. From joining our Company in 1952 as Secretary to then Director Carlton Alexander, to later building successful businesses of her own that would ultimately be acquired by GraceKennedy, her story is one of determination, courage, and quiet strength.

In 1972, Ms Tenn made history as the first woman to serve on GraceKennedy’s Board of Directors, breaking barriers and paving the way for greater gender diversity in leadership in Jamaica’s private sector. Her influence extended well beyond the boardroom through her contribution to initiatives supporting Jamaica’s agricultural sector and her enduring example to generations of Jamaican women.

The entire GraceKennedy family honours her extraordinary legacy and offers sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who were inspired by her life. Her impact on GraceKennedy and on Jamaica will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
