GraceKennedy Expands U.S. Footprint with Modern Distribution Facility in Atlanta

GraceKennedy (GK) is strengthening its global food operations with growing momentum across the Mid-South U.S.

Over the past year, much of this growth has been driven by its new state-of-the-art 26,000 square foot distribution and office facility in Southwest Atlanta. Fully operational since July 2024, the facility has rapidly become a key pillar of GK’s U.S. growth strategy for its food business, significantly enhancing its presence and capabilities in the region.

Strategically located near the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the facility serves as a critical hub for distributing Grace and La Fe branded products, as well as some third-party brands, across Georgia and the Carolinas. It also supports shipments to Louisiana and Tennessee, enabling broader and more efficient reach across the U.S.

Andrea Coy, CEO of GK Foods explained, “This facility brings us closer to our customers in one of the fastest growing markets in the U.S. for Caribbean and Hispanic food products. It is a significant milestone in our strategy to expand the reach of our brands, improve service to our trade partners, and deliver on our promise to make our products more accessible in high-demand markets.”

Derrick Reckord, President & CEO of GraceKennedy Foods (USA) LLC, which operates the Atlanta facility, added, “This is a key part of our broader plan to deepen our presence in North America, ensuring we are well-positioned to meet rising consumer demand while supporting operational efficiency and scalability across our U.S. distribution network.”

GraceKennedy Foods (USA) LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of GraceKennedy, focused on distributing Caribbean and Hispanic food products in the U.S. market. In July 2014, the company expanded its U.S. presence by acquiring La Fe Foods, a leading Hispanic brand with strong distribution along the East Coast. Since then, GK has expanded further, inaugurating a 195,000 square foot distribution centre in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey in 2019, and more recently consolidating facilities in Miami and Atlanta to support its growing reach in the U.S.

GK’s new combined office and warehouse space in Atlanta includes both temperature-controlled and ambient storage, allowing for seamless integration of frozen and chilled products with its traditional dry goods. This operational flexibility strengthens the company’s direct store delivery service, particularly to key retail partners, and enhances its presence in major regional grocery chains.
