GK Foods Clarifies USDA-FSIS Alert Regarding Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages

GraceKennedy Foods (GK Foods) wishes to clarify the circumstances surrounding a Public Health Alert issued by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS) on October 6, 2026, concerning Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages manufactured in Jamaica.

GK Foods does not export Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages manufactured in Jamaica to the United States, nor have we authorised any person or entity to do so on our behalf.

GK Foods is not currently eligible to export meat or poultry products to the United States and operates in full compliance with this regulatory requirement. Accordingly, any Jamaica-manufactured Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages that entered the US market did so outside of GK Foods’ authorised export and distribution channels.

Grace Vienna Sausages distributed by GK Foods in the United States are manufactured at USDA-compliant facilities and in accordance with applicable USDA requirements.

Consumers should also note that the USDA-FSIS alert relates to the products entering the United States from a country that is not eligible to export meat or poultry products to that market. It does not identify a contamination or food-safety defect with the product.

GK Foods’ meat-processing facility in Jamaica, which manufactures Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages, is FSSC 22000 certified, maintains stringent food-safety and quality standards, and exports to several approved markets across the Caribbean region in accordance with the regulatory requirements of those countries.
