Call for Grant Proposals are Now Open
The GraceKennedy Foundation was established in 1982 to mark the 60th anniversary of GraceKennedy & Company Limited. Its mission is to support GraceKennedy’s practice and ethos of “We Care” by creating environmentally sustainable programmes, promoting healthy lifestyles and increasing access to quality education.
As part of our ongoing efforts, particularly in light of the impact of Hurricane Melissa, we are inviting registered, eligible organisations to submit grant proposals for projects focused on early childhood education and/or special needs, with priority given to institutions affected by Hurricane Melissa.
Specific guidelines must be adhered to if your application is to be considered. All entities applying for grants, should carefully read the application criteria and eligibility requirements before submitting a request.
Eligibility Criteria
- The geographical area of interest is Jamaica
- Must be a registered non-governmental organisation or educational institution to be considered
Eligible activities include:
- Replacement of desks, chairs, and basic classroom equipment
- Acquisition of educational supplies
- Small scale repairs required for reopening or continuity of learning
Grants are NOT provided:
- In response to general appeals, no matter how worthwhile the cause
- For the general funds of an organisation or to clear debts
- For payment of salaries or salary supplements
- For personal study or travel
- For personal medical or related purposes
- For buildings /construction/ major repairs projects
- For the purchase of land
- For activities that have the potential to cause adverse impacts to critical habitat
- To profit-making organisations or for purpose of personal profit
- For the hosting of conferences
- For back-to-school treats or health fairs

Up to JA$500,000 per selected project

Selection Process
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Alignment with GraceKennedy Foundation’s mission and focus areas
- Project feasibility and sustainability
- Impact on the target community or audience
- Budget clarity and efficiency
Review Process
Proposals will be reviewed by the Foundation’s Board, and successful applicants will be notified.
Reporting Requirements
Grantees are required to submit a final report summarising the project outcomes and complete a grant evaluation form and an evaluation survey.
