Scholarship information

The GraceKennedy Jamaican Birthright Programme is a cultural and professional internship geared at highlighting all aspects of Jamaican life while furthering the career goals of the selected candidates. The internship is designed to reconnect 2nd and 3rd generation Jamaicans living in the USA, UK and Canada to their proud Jamaican heritage.

GraceKennedy Jamaican Birthright Programme

- Cultural and professional internship geared at highlighting all aspects of Jamaican life while furthering the career goals of the selected candidates
- Give successful candidates a well-rounded Jamaican experience
- Launched in 2004
- Fully paid professional & cultural summer internship
- The programme has welcomed 65 participants to date, each becoming lifelong ambassadors of Jamaica.
GraceKennedy will provide:
- Round-trip airfare from select international airports
- Comfortable housing accommodations
- Ground transportation to and from work and scheduled activities
- Weekly stipend
The Professional Component

- Selected candidates will work full-time at a GraceKennedy subsidiary aligned with their field of study, granting them hands on experience in a wide range of industries.
The Cultural Component

- Selected candidates will be taken on a variety of weekend programmes, which will expose them to the Jamaican heritage by immersing them in our historic sites, cultural packages, natural and human resources, and of course, our beaches!!
