Kingston, Jamaica, February 7, 2017 – GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS) today announced the commercial launch of its mobile payment platform, GK MPay. The service will permit users to execute a range of transactions including: pay bills; top-up phone credit; make peer-to-peer transfers and receive Western Union remittances.
With the global mobile money payments market estimated to reach U$3.3 billion by 2022, GK MPay is expecting that its wide network of agent locations will deliver seamless integration into the lives of customers.
Michelle Allen, Chief Executive Officer, GKMS said, “GK MPay is a highly robust platform that will keep pace with how people live today. We are delivering an unequalled technology payment solution that is aligned to Jamaican realities. This product is defined by its ease of use, how well it is integrated into the things our customers need to do every day and its accessibility through our extensive agent ecosystem.”
Available for smart phones via the app and some USSD phones, GK MPay comes to market after two years of development, that included a pilot programme in which user styles and expectations provided real world intelligence to perfect the service. GK MPay is available in three tiers: Bronze, Silver and Gold, with increasing limits and respective requirements. With a large customer base already using the GKMS network, GK MPay’s Peer to Peer Transfer feature is expected to deliver a boost to small business development through the easy, fast and secure delivery of payments.
